The book is shaped by insights of real legal professionals with whom paralegals work to offer relevant information for use in the workplace. The text illuminates specific tasks and roles paralegals will play in the workplace to fully prepare them to enter the field. The Fifth Edition builds a foundation of knowledge which students can augment as they work towards a profession in the field of law.

About the Author

Thomas F. Goldman, JD, is Professor Emeritus of Bucks County Community College, where he was a professor of Law and Management and Director of the Center for Legal Studies and the Paralegal Studies Program. He was a member of the Paralegal Studies Advisory Board and mentor at Thomas Edison State College, where he developed an Advanced Litigation Support and Technology Certificate Program in the School of Professional Studies, and implemented the online paralegal studies program for the New York Times knowledge network.

 

He is an author of textbooks in paralegal studies and technology, including Technology in the Law Office, Accounting and Taxation for Paralegals, Civil Litigation: Process and Procedures, Litigation Practice: E-Discovery and Technology, Abacus Law: A Hands-On Tutorial and Guide, Real Estate Fundamentals, and SmartDraw Tutorial and Guide.

 

An accounting and economics graduate of Boston University and a graduate of Temple University School of Law, Professor Goldman has an active international law, technology law, and litigation practice. He has worked extensively with paralegals and received the award of the Legal Support Staff Guild. He was elected the Legal Secretaries Association Boss of the Year for his contribution to cooperative education of encouraging the use of paralegals and legal assistants in law offices. He also received the Bucks County Community College Alumni Association Professional Achievement Award. He has been an educational consultant on technology to educational institutions and major corporations and is a frequent speaker and lecturer on educational, legal, and technology issues.

 

Henry R. Cheeseman is Professor Emeritus of the Marshall School of Business of the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, California, where he was a professor of business law and Director of the Legal Studies in Business Program. Professor Cheeseman taught business law, legal environment, corporate law, securities regulation, cyberlaw, and ethics courses in both the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and undergraduate programs of the Marshall School of Business of the University of Southern California. He received the Golden Apple Teaching Award on many occasions by being voted by the students as the best professor at the Marshall School of Business. He has also served at the Center for Excellence in teaching at the university.

 

Professor Cheeseman has earned six degrees, including a bachelor’s degree in finance from Marquette University, both a master’s in business administration (MBA) and a master’s in business taxation (MBT) from the University of Southern California, a juris doctor (JD) degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law, a master’s degree with an emphasis on law and economics from the University of Chicago, and a master’s in law (LLM) degree in financial institutions law from Boston University.

 

Professor Cheeseman is an award-winning author of several business law textbooks published by Pearson Education, including the definitive and highly regarded Business Law. Other business law and legal environment textbooks authored by Professor Cheeseman and published by Pearson Education include Contemporary Business Law, Legal Environment of Business, and Introduction to Law. In addition to being a coauthor with Professor Thomas Goldman of the fifth editions of The Paralegal Professional and The Paralegal Professional The Essentials, he is also coauthor of Contract Law for Paralegals and Business Organizations for Paralegals, all published by Pearson Education.

Great book for newbies and old hands

The hardest part about sourcing in general is not having a process and good practices .

Now throw in working in a different country, ethics and culture ... now you are in trouble .

I have been sourcing in China for years but this helps bring the whole picture together . A check list of sorts . It is a great tool kit for bringing on new staff and saying " this is how we do it" instead of people creating their own way.

I highly recommend anyone trying to get into sourcing or need better guidance of "how to

Just finished reading this Masterpiece!

The book literally answred a question that I always had in mind which is HOW SOURCING IN CHINA WORKS? Mr. Bellamy has done a great job in explaining in depth how sourcing works in China by using real examples and providing templates and reports. Mike will take you step by step on how to manufacture your product whether you're small or medium business or even a corporation. I was hesitant to purchase the book at first but trust me, the book worths each penny! A must buy.

Concrete real world guidance

I really enjoyed this book by Mike Bellamy. I am a huge fan of his literature & all the great work that I feel he has accomplished and continue to accomplish being a westerner (New Yorker) in China. If you currently source or do business with/in china you know that it is by far not an easy act. I am truly appreciative of Mike to be so transparent and genuine in sharing the wealth of knowledge he has acquired over the years from his own direct hands-on experience and hard work.

I have had this book for about 3 years (although I wish I had come across it earlier) and till today I find myself frequently referring back, relating and applying the material covered in this book in my own china sourcing. I bring it along with me to China on all my trips. I find it to be a great asset to my collection of books as it's full of real-world practical information and examples. In my opinion the book is easy to read and high in value. If one was to acquire the amount of information covered in this book on their own, I feel you could easily spend 5-10+ years of trials and tribulations. I personally believe you will gain insight regardless if you are in the novice or professional stage.

On my last venture to Hong Kong, I had the opportunity to meet Mike and his fellow associates in person at the global sources trade show. I was delighted to have Mike autograph my personal copy of the book. I found that his nature, persona in real life were very sincere and complemented his character which I visioned of him from reading the book. If all that Tom Rob Smith had done was to re-create Stalinist Russia, with all its double-speak hypocrisy, he would have written a worthwhile novel. He did so much more than that in Child 44, a frightening, chilling, almost unbelievable horror story about the very worst that Stalin's henchmen could manage. In this worker's paradise, superior in every way to the decadent West, the citizen's needs are met: health care, food, shelter, security. All one must offer in exchange are work and loyalty to the State. Leo Demidov is a believer, a former war hero who loves his country and wants only to serve it well. He puts contradictions out of his mind and carries on. Until something happens that he cannot ignore. A serial killer of children is on the loose, and the State cannot admit it.

To admit that such a murderer is committing these crimes is itself a crime against the State. Instead of coming to terms with it, the State's official position is that it is merely coincidental that children have been found dead, perhaps from accidents near the railroad tracks, perhaps from a person deemed insane, or, worse still, homosexual. But why does each victim have his or her stomach excised, a string around the ankle, and a mouth full of dirt? Coincidence? Leo, in disgrace and exiled to a country village, doesn't think so. How can he prove it when he is being pursued like a common criminal himself? He and his wife, Raisa, set out to find the killer. Deeply patriotic, but covetous of the perks of his position, Leo knows that many of the people he arrests are innocent, and he knows that he could suffer a similar fate. He does, almost, when office politics, MGB style, dictate his transfer to the lowly militia in a small city hundreds of miles east of Moscow. There he discovers that a serial killer is preying on children in cities along the Trans-Siberian Railroad. Having lost almost everything, Leo seeks redemption by hunting the killer, but his effort makes him a high-profile enemy of the state (acknowledging that a serial killer could exist in the USSR is tantamount to treason). Child 44 powerfully personalizes the Orwellian horrors of life in Stalin’s Russia. Almost every page echoes Hobbes’ description of the life of man: “nasty, brutish, and short.” First-novelist Smith’s pacing is relentless; readers wanting to put the book down for a brief rest may find themselves persevering regardless. Strong Debut Thriller Based on a Real Soviet Serial Killer

I generally don't care for serial killer stories, I find that everyday "regular" crime holds plenty of drama and is much easier to connect with. However, the Soviet setting of this debut thriller intrigued me enough to dip into it for a few pages, and the writing on those first few pages swept me into the story very quickly. For the first 3/4, it's an excellent grafting of the serial killer genre onto the everyday horror of the early-'50s Stalinist era Soviet Union. Unfortunately, Smith succumbs to the thriller writer's temptation of having a huge plot twist toward the end, which unnecessarily sabotages what had been a grim and realistic story to that point. It's one of those twists that comes out of nowhere, and really doesn't serve much purpose other than as a "gotcha" moment -- the story could have worked just as effectively without it.

Other than this one vastly annoying flaw, the book is excellent. After a chilling prologue in the famine-devastated Ukraine of the 1930s (a famine engineered by Stalin, it must be noted), the story opens in 1953 Moscow, where we meet Great Patriotic War hero and militia officer Leo Demidov, as he pursues the interests of the state in tracking down its enemies. Smith takes plenty of time to build up the totalitarian setting, where fear and paranoia reigned, and reason was a luxury unavailable to the state. If you were a suspect, you were guilty, since the state did not make mistakes. The story focuses on Demidov, showing the privileges his family enjoys due to his position, and the precariousness of his position as a jealous underling plots to destroy him. (This underling is the weakest element in the book, as his hatred for Demidov is a critical catalyst several times in the story, but the motivation for it is far too one-dimensional.)

It isn't until 1/3 of the way into the book that the serial killer plotline starts to assert itself, and Leo begins to realize that the same killer might have struck hundreds of miles apart. It's also at this point that I realized that Smith was taking the case of the real-life Soviet serial killer Andrei Chikatilo (aka "The Rostov Ripper") and moving it back in time a few decades. The killer's background, physical details, MO, and more are all based on the Chikatilo case. (I find it a little bit odd that while the "further reading" section at the end of the book makes a passing mention to a book on the Chikatilo case, Smith doesn't explain who Chikatilo was or just how directly he drew upon the case for the book. There have been several non-fiction books written about the case (such as Hunting the Devil), and two mediocre films based on it: Citizen X and Evilenko.) In any event, once Leo starts to suspect the existence of such a killer, he is severely hamstrung in his ability to do anything about it -- partly because the existence of such a madman is incompatible with the utopian ideals of the Soviet state. To admit such a killer would be to admit the imperfection of the state.

As Leo's star falls, he is also subject to a shock in his personal life which makes him question everything. Galvanized to find and kill the serial killer as an act of redemption, he manages to enlist some help even as he comes under further pressure from his nemesis. A classic trope of the thriller is that the hunter/truth-seeker becomes the hunted, and Smith pulls just such a maneuver off brilliantly. The book picks up momentum, and other than the unnecessary plot twist mentioned above, races toward the climactic showdown with great skill. It's an excellent debut novel, and should have wide appeal to fans of thrillers, the serial killer subgenre, and fans of Martin Cruz Smith.

Debut novel - an author's unique twist!

Long a fan of "Citizen X" the HBO film about Russian serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, who killed children at large in the Soviet Union from 1978-1990, I'd heard some buzz about "Child 44", but didn't read any reviews until I purchased the book.

The young British author, Tom Rob Smith, made my jaw drop with his version of historical fiction, because yes, Smith takes the tale of Andrei Chikatilo (who has been written about in true crime genre) and moves it BACK in time, keeping the tale somewhat intact but setting it in Stalinist Russia in the early 50's. The contrast is startling, because, by the 80's, near the end of the Cold War, the denizens of the USSR had been disillusioned by the "glory" of Communism and had spent decades poor, hungry, frightened of the state. Despite that, the hunt for Chikatilo in the 80's was funded and followed, somewhat as an afterthought, by the state.

In the 50's, with Stalin's grip on the nation--it's a worker's paradise in everything but reality. And the leader would never allow such crimes as murder to exist. And with this change of landscape, the author, with what must have been painstaking research of the times, heightens the suspense, creates a sense of absolute hopelessness, and puts the military hero tracking the killer in fear for his own life and those of his family.

Pursuing the killer, and refusing to denounce his own wife, Leo Demidov places his own career and life in jeopardy. In addition to the deft way in which the author moves from Leo's childhood to his present, from the killer to Demidov and back, and into the stark conflict that is Leo's life with his wife, Raisa, Smith doesn't give up his terse, descriptive style; of the forbidding Lubyanka, he writes:

"Its façade created the impression of watchfulness: rows and rows of windows crammed together, stacked up and up, rising to a clock at the top which stared out over the city as though it were a single beady eye. An invisible borderline existed around the building. Passersby steered clear of this imaginary perimeter as if fearful they were going to be pulled in. Crossing that line meant you were either staff or condemned. There was no chance you could be found innocent inside these walls. It was an assembly line of guilt".

Brilliantly conceived, and flawlessly executed, "Child 44" is the best book I've read so far this year.

Hardcore firsthand look at Stalinist Russia

Having never written a review of any sort, I could not help but express my thanks to the author for this reality check describing Stalin's Russia. The atrocities of the serial killer and those experienced by the Russian general population are the same in their brutality and insanity. This is a serial killer story straight from the pages of Animal Farm. If you are a grandparent give this book to your children. They will appreciate a good fiction story and gain a better picture of what happens in a totalitarian state. Later they can share this book with your grandchildren.

About the Author
Samuel Enoch Stumpf was Emeritus Professor of Philosophy and Emeritus Professor of Law at Vanderbilt University prior to his death in 1998, at the age of eighty. He earned a B.S. in Business and Finance from the University of California at Los Angeles, a B.D. in Theology from Andover Newton Theological School, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Chicago. He joined the Vanderbilt faculty in 1948 and served as Chair of the Philosophy Department from 1952 to 1967. After a five-year term as President of Cornell College, Professor Stumpf returned to Vanderbilt, where he remained until his retirement in 1984. Professor Stumpf’s publications include Democratic Manifesto (1954), Morality and the Law (1966), and four McGraw-Hill textbooks: Socrates to Sartre: A History of Philosophy (1966; 6th ed., posthumous, 1999); Philosophical Readings: Selected Problems (1971; 4th ed., 1994); Philosophy: History and Problems (1971; 5th ed., 1994); and Elements of Philosophy: An Introduction (1979; 3rd ed., 1993).

James Fieser is an Assistant Professor of philosophy at the University of Tennessee at Martin. He received his Ph.D. from Purdue University’s Department of Philosophy (1983, 1986). He has published articles on the topics of the philosophy of religion, rights theory, environmental ethics, moral skepticism, David Hume, and Thomas Aquinas. He has created several World Wide Web sites in philosophy, including the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy.

A good survey of philosophy

This philosophy book by Stumpf and Fieser is a good survey of all the major topics in philosophy (from a classical Western standpoint), and includes many of the major thinkers over time, both in the narrative discussion presented by the authors, as well as in primary source readings from major philosophers themselves.

The text is divided into five major sections: I - Ancient Greek Philosophy; II - Hellenistic and Medieval Philosophy; III - Early Modern Philosophy; IV - Late Modern and 19th Century Philosophy; and V - 20th Century and Contemporary Philosophy. Section I looks at the major ancient Greek thinkers, such as Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, as well as lesser-known important figures and schools such as Thales, Pythagoras, the Sophists, and more. This is the time that philosophy began to be broken into certain topical areas (ethics, politics, metaphysics, logic, etc.) but also a time when the disciplines of science, mathematics and what we would call social sciences and arts and humanities were all directly and explicitly tied to the overall philosophical enterprise.

The section on Hellenistic and Medieval Philosophy looks at later Greek schools (Stocism, Skepticism, Epicureanism) as well as the advent of Christianity and Christian influence in philosophical development. Key figures here include Augustine (heavily influenced by the twin sources of Christianity and Neoplatonism), Boethius, Anselm, Aquinas (influenced greatly by the European rediscovery of Aristotle), and late medieval figures such as Scotus, Ockham and Eckhart.

Early Modern Philosophy begins at the time the various Renaissance and Reformation periods began, looking at key philosophers such as Machiavelli, Bacon, Hobbes, Descartes, Spinoza, Leibniz, and the British Empiricists; this was also the advent of the scientific revolution and prelude to the Enlightenment, so there were philosophies of politics, religion, science, knowledge and ethics significantly different from anything before.

Late Modern and 19th Century Philosophy looks at primary Enlightenment figures such as Kant and Hegel, with fundamentally new ideas in the areas of metaphysics and epistemology (and, accordingly, new philosophies in other areas that reflect the new developments). This is also the period that saw the advent of Utilitarianism (Bentham, Mill, and Comte), and radical thinkers such as Kierkegaard, Marx and Nietzsche, whose direct influence in areas of religion, politics, and culture are still being felt.

Key areas covered in the final chapter on Contemporary Philosophy include Pragmatism (Pierce, James, Dewey, Bergson, Whitehead), Analytic Philosophy (Russell and Wittgenstein), Phenomenology and Existentialism (Husserl, Heidegger, Sartre, Merleau-Ponty), and very new ideas that are only now coming to full expression (postmodernism, structuralism and post-structuralism, mind-body problems, etc.). Overall, this text includes a 500-page narrative of the principle ideas and patterns of development that have shaped the many dimensions of Western philosophy.

Sufficient for an introductory course, it should also serve to whet the appetite of readers who are seeking more in particular philosophical areas. This book would be well served paired with a collection of primary text readings (and indeed, there is such a volume available).

There is a useful glossary of key philosophical terms, a select bibliography arranged chronologically by chapter, divided into original documents and critical studies, and an index including names, terms and concepts.

Philosophy is rarely easy reading; there will be parts that appeal to a particular reader that will leave another bewildered or bored (or both!), but there tends to be in the philosophical discipline something somewhere of interest to most. This gives a good, broad layout of philosophy as done in the primary Western, academic tradition, and serves as a good text for classrooms, as well as use for a personal study.

A refreshingly readable survey of the history of western philosophy

Stumpf's text is widely used in Introduction to Philosophy courses, a fact in no doubt due to the book's brevity and clarity. Teaching philosophy is a tricky business. It is easy to make ideas that ought to be exhilarating into dreadfully boring subjects but, on the other hand, a good philosophy teacher can take some dry and boring philosophical idea and breathe life into it so that it becomes interesting to anyone, even the casual reader. Stumpf is this latter type. He excels at clearly communicating the fundamental ideas of the major thinkers in the history of western philosophy, but more important is the efficiency with which he does it. Overview philosophy texts can often fall into one of two traps: either they bog themselves down so much with the various philosophers' canons of thought that the book becomes too bloated for the average student, or for the sake of being concise they boil down those canons until what remains are only bare bones structures of the philosophers' bodies of thought. Stumpf avoids both extremes, and when the economy with which he writes is paired with his keen understanding of philosophy, the result is an extremely effective philosophy text that comes in at a fighting weight of about 500 pages.

My only criticism of Stumpf would be his choice of philosophers to include. I am not all that concerned with August Comte, for example, and in my mind the inclusion of Reid or Paley would have better represented the Enlightenment debates on epistemology. But each philosopher has a different band of thinkers that he thinks is more important than others, and I guess it's inevitable that I as a Christian would want any philosophy text to include those two. Setting that gripe in the ditch for a moment, I would heartily recommend Socrates to Sartre to anyone interested in western philosophy.

Necessary Changes of Mind

Jenny Wade has made a most valuable contribution to the literature on human psychospiritual development with this substantive, well-researched work. She begins by placing overall consciousness research in the context of the new physics, specifically the post-Newtonian paradigm of physicist David Bohm, describing how the implications of such paradigms change not only earlier undestandings of human development but our understanding of what it fundamentally means to be a human being. Then she has opened up "stage theory" of development to explore research on the pre- and peri-natal stages of consciousness and the research on near-death experiences. She highlights a quality of "transcendent" consciouness revealed in this research that is similar in both the pre-birth and after-death "stages" of life, and explores the implications of this in understanding both the other stages between birth and death and the nature of human existence itself. She then draws on Eastern and Western mystical writings, showing how her conclusions correlate with the experiences of practicing mystics through the ages.
My only quarrel with Ms. Wade is that as she explores mystical literature she tends to privilege Eastern over Western mysticism. This reflects the general pattern in Transpersonal writings, and points to what I feel is a need in the Judeo-Christian world to affirm and bring forward more vigorously its own particular and very valuable strain of mystical literature.
I welcome this work for opening up regions not yet covered by other Transpersonalists, Wilber, Washburn, et al, and feel the perspective Ms. Wade offers will add invaluable depth and breadth to the developmental and Transpersonal dialogue.

The great paradigm shift is here

To say this monumental book changed my life would be to use the most overused term in today's New Age pop-psychological world (I know because I've used it myself a few times describing other books!). But there is no other way to describe the power of what Dr. Jenny Wade has to say and the intellectual argument she makes- with the erudition of a scientist, and the humility of a mystic.
CHANGES OF MIND is the thinking man and woman's CELESTINE PROPHECY. She not only avoids backing down from the challenge of embracing previously accepted conventional psychoanalytical theory, religious philosophy and the scientific method. She embraces and redeems them all, as well as the myth and mysticism of practically every age and religion, by puttting them in what can only seem to be their proper intellectual/spiritual perspective. The model for charting and understanding the levels of consciousness of the human being- animal and spirit/mind- that she proposes becomes so immediately all encompassing that it can be considered a unified field theory for the human experience unlike anything that has been rendered before in Western Society.
Many writers, with their amazing intellect and insight, can give honor to their disciplines as they encompass enough of human endeavor and history into their perspective to make you become a intellectual roomate in the apartment of their minds whenever you look at the world afterwards. Camille Paglia and Nancy Friday, with their Freudian/Nietzschean, Anthropological/Psychological perspectives; Giorgio de Santillana (HAMLET'S MILL), with his profound and innovative (though not new) look at ancient myth in the context of astronomical science, immediately come to mind. Some, like the genius astrophyiscist Stephen Hawking, open you up to a world you otherwise would not have ever known.
CHANGES OF MIND has managed, for me, to create a paradigm of thought that encompasses every other, as if the intellectual house of every other thinker over the past three or four millenia around the world has been layed out to be easily visited and understood in the Urban Planning City-structure of Dr. Jenny Wade's mind. Gnostic Christianity, Freud, Piaget, Tibetan Mysticism, Sociology, Possibility thinkers, Success-oriented philosophies, New-age Spiritualism, Newtonian Physics, Quantum mechanics, psychic powers, dysfunctional families and codependency, Jung, history, the nature of time and space, reincarnation, pre-natal memories, English literature, sex, Buddhism, Christian Fundamentalism, Jesus Christ... there is little if anything in the human world that cannot be better understood and completely encapsulized by her vision of Transpersonal Psychology and the actual full stages of human development she clearly, lucidly and powerfully describes.
There are an extraordinarily few number of books that I have read that have touched me so profoundly, creating a paradigm shift in my view of people, myself and the world,while simultaneously reaffirming my most treasured pre-verbal intuitions- with science, not poetry. She does, however, make the poetry of all the world, from John Donne ("Death too, shall die") to the Egyptian Book of the Dead, to the New Testament, come alive in ways I never expected, and never would have guessed.
I cannot recommend this book to the fascinated and the skeptical alike enough.

Very academic, but well worth reading

In "Changes of Mind", Jenny Wade provides the reader with an excellent survey of research regarding stages of consciousness, from prenatal to after-death. Perhaps because she is working principally with academic research, her writing style is likewise very academic. Those not accustomed to the jargon of the field intially may find the writing style somewhat dry and less accessible; however, the content is very directly and lucidly presented. Wade presents differing opinions developed from research done in the field and carefully brings together her theory regarding the evolution of consciousness. An honest account of success and failure

The author describes how she has followed her passion, photography, while developing a more steady stream of income than she was able to make as a freelance photographer doing weddings, senior portraits etc... This is her account of the different things she has tried. What worked and what didn't. It gives an insight into the incredible amount of work, patience, perseverance and thick skin required to get such a venture off the ground. If youv'e ever considered making a living using the internet and social media than this is a great read.

Great 1st Run!

I have been following SnapChick, or Brittany pretty much ever since she embarked with SnapChick.com.
What can I say, The book was awesome! You writing ir not bad at all, and I enjoyed it. I am now going to become a VIP after I get my checks in the bank. This is worth the buy 100%. I started just like SnapChick, nothing but a passion for photography.

Remarkably Frank and Refreshing

I stumbled upon my first Snapchick video quite by accident, a few days ago. I had read on NikonRumors that the Nikon V1 was being sold by B&H for just $299. The camera had always intrigued me, even at the $800 or $900 original price, but when the V2 came out, it seemed like they were just dumping the old V1's, so now I had to really investigate. I searched YouTube and one of the few (why so few?) full reviews for the V1 was the Snapchick's. I have watched hundreds of photo related videos over the years, ThatNikonGuy, Digital Rev, FroKnowsPhoto, The Camera Store, etc. I found it odd that I had never stumbled upon one of the SnapChick's video's until now. I still don't know why.

Anyway, as I watched SnapChick's V1 video review, I could feel her infectious enthusiasm for the little V1 "that packs a big punch", or something like that. I was hooked, and proceeded to watch many of her videos. Yes, the SnapChick is pretty and fit, but pretty, fit girls are a dime a dozen. They are everywhere. No, it is what is between Brittany Leigh's ears, not in front of them or below them, that makes her brand of video review unique. I was intrigued.

I've been thinking of making some art related videos, as a P.R. device, more than a direct revenue generator, for YouTube and I figured if I could learn just one or two things, this inexpensive book would be worth it to me. Ms. Leigh stresses, in her casual, play full writing style, the importance of "being real". She explains the importance of personally addressing and responding to mountains of comments and emails. She acknowledges that it is important to "use what you got", in her case, playing up her appearance.

What most surprised me was her intuitive/schooled knowledge of economics. Personally, I found this casual, logical "analysis" very fun and enjoyable to read. Lastly, there is her frank discussion of dealing with haters, criticism and the like. I can't help thinking that Leigh has a very sensitive and sometimes depressed side, though she always acts upbeat and confident in her comments and videos. She's got spunk and smarts and it comes through in her book. I wish her continued success and I hope she has the stamina and fortitude to press on. She obviously thinks a lot, experiments a lot, and works "wicked hard", as we say in Boston.

It is a brief, inexpensive, but very honest book - up to date too. Oh speaking of honest, Ms. Leigh even shares her exact, quite limited, sales numbers, in terms of the VIP members that signed up each month. This is remarkably frank and refreshing. I've never read anything quite like it. If you have an interest in business in general, or possibly in starting your own internet, i.e. social media, based business, I would say it is definitely worth the time to take in this very brief read.

Oh, and in case you are wondering, I did buy the Nikon V1 and I love it!
